The site looks great, nice and clean but it is a little busy. Your nav windows to the left should be collapseable.

Hello, Reinhold. Ret Talbot here, and I want to echo what James said about the look, feel and functionality of the site. I have a few ideas that might be worth including.
I think it would be interesting to add the "Find Us on Facebook" graphic with a link to the Coral Magazine Facebook page (I will forward the graphic and link to James).
It would also be great to collect e-mail addresses on all site pages with a "Sign up for our newsletter" link. If James wants to continue to work the first list we used and build that for future e-mail marketing opportunities, then it would be ideal to drop in the code that will allow us to use the Constant Contact management tool. Again, I will send that information to James.
Finally, as a writer, I would love to see a "directory" of all Coral writers including a headshot, brief bio and Coral bibliography. I'm not sure that is appropriate for the site, but it's just a thought.

Am now home with some time to focus.
The look of the site is bold. At first I thought it was a bit cold, but once we get in a big picture and some ads, it will come to life. Bravo!
I have asked our West Coast Bureau Chief, Ret Talbot, to join in on this. Ret does work with other sites and may be quite involved in our newsletter and blogging efforts with this site. Ret, meet Reinhold. Reinhold, meet Ret.
Now, my concerns about the design:
1] We would like the outside right column, or both right and left, to be able to take a 250 px wide ad. As in the MAQX site:

As you will see in Google Ad Manager, we have ad sizes at 250x250 and 250x500. I hope it's not too much work to change, but we need to have these sizes available on CORAL.
Sorry if I didn't make this clear in the initial outline.
(Let me know if you didn't get the Ad Manager log in, and I'll resend.)
2] As for the Top Nav, I like the functionality. (In fact, everything seems intelligently planned.) I think we might want to change the main areas as follows:
